Turbo Attack

Porsche moved its Rennsport Reunion from the east coast to Monterey, California in 2011. The results were beyond expectations. Porsche uses the event strategically and holds the event every 3 to 4 years. Rennsport Reunion V and VI were held in 2015 and 2018 again at Laguna Seca in Monterey.

I was shooting Saturday afternoon outside of Turn 11 and as the afternoon wore down and the last class ran, I was looking forward to relaxing and having a (couple) cold beer. On the schedule after the last class of cars was 917 demo laps. I had watched the earlier 917K demo and was not interesting in another demo. As I started packing up my gear I could see the 917 Can-Am cars taking the track. Well the beer can wait for another few minutes. I quickly setup my Nikon D750 DSLR with the 200~500mm lens. Viewed through the extended lens I was a witness to magic. As the 917 Turbo CanAm cars exited Turn 10 they lineup perfectly. This was my photo of the weekend.
