The Road to Le Mans
In the spring of 2023, I was lucky to be part of the small team that transported Porsche 356/2 SL 063 from Zuffenhausen to Le Mans. We retraced the route the Porsche team had used in 1951 and would stop in French villages along the way to photograph the car.
One of the villages was Poivres. We unloaded the car and Cameron Healy would drive the car through the village streets. We scouted ahead and found an old wooden building with a farmer’s field in the foreground.
The Road to Le Mans captures the essence of the time. The little Porsche in rural France could be a close view to what the Porsche team would have experienced in 1951.
