Porsche 936

The Mosport 200 was the fifth round of the 1976 World Sports Car Championship and it would be the only opportunity to see the Porsche 936 and Renault A442 in North America. That was enough for me to make the day long drive from my Connecticut home to Mosport Park. It was my first visit to the track and would be a good chance to scout the area for that year’s Canadian Grand Prix.

I walked the track photographing from various points and finally took up position outside the exit of the Moss Turn. Jacky Ickx came around in the Porsche 936 and the light was just perfect. This was a favorite image from the weekend.
